I feel so fortunate to have been part of the team that made a beautiful 3.1-mile linear park that connects the French Quarter to six other neighborhoods across New Orleans. The results yield from a multi-year public outreach process and a collaboration across local, state, and federal agencies.
The park sits on a ribbon of land running through the city that was formerly an unused railroad line. It now offers a multi-use walking and biking trail, a range of greenspaces, amenities, wildlife habitat, and stormwater features. It has spurred numerous economic development projects including bars and restaurants, apartments, a coffee shop, and co-working office space, all with direct access to the path.
